Waiting around.....

Special time with Daddy
On Thursday night we met the family for dinner. We were out running errands before dinner and arrived at the restaurant a half an hour early. Thankfully, I had my camera with me so I was able to take these pictures of Hunter and Wayne waiting around.

Back to Work...

Monday was my first subbing job at Golden Oak Elementary in Fair Oaks Ranch. Golden Oak is a brand new state of the art school, with only 400 students. I subbed in a 1/2 combo class. Overall the day went well, it was challenging juggling both grades. At one point I was calling out spelling words first to the first graders, and then to the second graders. Of course the first graders were writing down the second grade words, and the second graders were complaing that the first graders were writing down their words.

Remembering..... My Dad

" He Only Takes The Best"

God saw you were getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you
And whispered "Come with Me"

With tearful eyes we watched you suffer
And slowly fade away,
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands now at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
' He only takes the best'.

Black Eye

He was playing on our bed,
and decided to stand up and try to run across the bed,
he stopped when his head came in contact with our foot board !

Favorite Fhoto Friday

This is the look I get when I stop Hunter from doing something he wants to do. It usually involves jumping off the side table, running across the bed, or jumping from couch to couch.

Trials and Tribulations

Being that my dad died six years ago this coming Sunday, I have spent the last few days thinking about the trials and tribulations of life. But most of all, I am thankful, thankful for the men I do have in my life, one being Wayne. I feel so lucky to be married to such a remarkable man. He is loyal to the bone, and such a hard worker. And best of all, he adored my dad and is as emotionally torn by his death as much as I am.

For those of you who have been there to watch our love story unfold know that Wayne and I have been through it all. Wayne and I have developed an incredible bond brought on by the sudden death of family members, and the birth of our first child. We have been at an all time low , and risen together to an all time high. Our life experiences will link us long after we leave this earth. No one will ever understand the depth of our relationship, and no one can ever take away what we have built together.

It is hard to believe that it has been six years. I find myself thinking of relationships I have developed over the last six year. I have friends who I have known since childhood, and dear friends who I have met over the last six years. I have friends who know my whole life story, and friends who have no idea what happened that night six years ago.

I will never forget a conversation I had with my friend Michelle who has come into my life after my dad passed away. After a lengthy conversation about life she simply said, " I have heard that your dad was a really great guy, I wish I could have met him." She probably doesn't remember saying this, or realize how much it impacted me. Michelle didn't need me to repeat the story, she knows the story, she just wanted me to know she knew.

On Sunday, I will post some fun pictures of my dad and I from way back. On that day, I will be remembering the good times, and instead of morning his loss I will spend the day being thankful for the wonderful men I have in my life.

Quality Time

Not much has changed at our house. I went from feeding Hunter a bottle for 12 months, to holding him in my lap while he drinks his milk for the last 3 months. Some days he wants to stand in between my legs while he drinks, other days he only wants to hold my hand, but most days he wants to sit on my lap
