Swimming Lessons - Day 9

Yesterday was fantastic, Hunter was doing really well and only cried a little bit. He is using his arms (row, rows) and his legs (kick, kicks) to get to the side or find the step.

There are a few funny things about Hunter sleeping that I have been wanting to blog about, but I have never had a chance to get in his room and take pictures while he is sleeping. Tonight I was able to take pictures because he missed his afternoon nap, and he is exhausted from playing all day, and swimming lessons.

To begin with ,within the last few days Hunter has started sleeping on his back. He has been sleeping on his stomach since 5 months old, and I have found him on his back the last three nights when I go and check on him. Wayne and I love it, and will take turns going in the room to watch him sleep.

Whether Hunter is sleeping in his car seat, in my arms, on the couch or in the crib, his legs are always crossed. To this day it makes me laugh every time I see those legs crossed. I think it reflects his laid back personality. Let me tell you it is damn cute ! Especially when he has his shoes on.

Lastly, is the story of Hunter's "glow worm". Wayne's mom bought Hunter this worm for Christmas,because all her boys loved their "glow worm". I can even remember owning one when I was little. Well, Wayne has affectionately nicknamed the "glow worm", the bitch. He will say things like , "where's the bitch", or "he threw the bitch overboard" or " light the bitch up". Although I wish he could find a more appropriate nickname, it makes me laugh. More then once I have found Hunter holding "the glow worm" in his lap, staring into her eyes. She is always the first to go when Hunter is clearing out his crib, and he often toddles down the hall with her in his hand. She sleeps right next him every night. He loves that "glow worm".

Swimming Lessons - Day 7

Tuesday went well, Hunter only cried for a few minutes and then became a willing participant after 6 days. He is doing really well at finding the step and the side of the pool. He is struggling with kicking his legs, which I am thinking will improve as he gets older.

On Monday morning, Hunter and I headed over to Wayne's aunts house to swim with Landon (Kodie's son). We swam, climbed the stairs around the pool, and ate PB&J.

Friday went well, Hunter is still crying but making a lot of progress. This is truly an amazing process, and I am so glad we are doing it. One more week to go !
