Sit Down Please .............

Now that Hunter has been walking for two days, he thinks it is OK to stand and try to walk while in the bathtub. Bath time lasts about a half hour and I think I told him to sit down about 20 times. I would first ask him to sit down, and surprisingly he would actually sit right down, but a few times I had to actually lift him up and sit him back down. I know he understood what he was doing because he would try to stand up again when I looked away to continue putting makeup on. I could see him creeping up while watching me finish my makeup.

Got Walking ?

After two months of crawling and cruising, Hunter took his first real steps today. The little guy has been taking one or two steps for about a week, but today it clicked and he walked about 10 to 12 steps by himself.Wayne and I were both here, and literally cheering as he took every step. As the day progressed Hunter was walking at every chance he had. As you can see below, it is more like a drunken stagger then anything else. Either way, Wayne and I are so excited for him we can hardly stand it !

Sing, Sign & Play

Music class has started again ! We are in a mixed age class ranging from 8 months to 4 years old. We sing, dance, and play with instruments. In the picture above, Hunter is playing the drum with two of his friends Mason 9 months, and Landon 17months.

Help me !

All hell has broken loose at our house these days. The little guy is quite mobile and into everything. While I was in the shower yesterday morning, Hunter unrolled the whole roll of toilet paper while I stood there and watched him soaking wet. I treasure a shower more then the roll of paper. That night as I finished the dishes Hunter climbed up on the dishwasher, and tried to unload everything I just loaded. Today I walked out of the room at John and Karen's and came back to baby with a mouth full of dry dog food.

This picture was taken two days after Hunter was born, and it is one of my favorite photos. What I love about it is that you can see the exhaustion in Wayne's eyes, but also the joy of a first time father. Now that Hunter is older, I can say that Wayne and I make a great team. We have been through a lot together, but our greatest accomplishment to date is surviving the first two weeks with a newborn.

Today is my sister's 31st birthday. Jamie spent the morning with her girlfriends getting a pedicure,and then we went to dinner to celebrate. Jamie made out like a bandit, getting a new ipod,HomeGoods gift certificates, and a platter painted by the girls.......

Neighborhood Watch .......

Playdate......

Hunter and I have been taking music classes, and sign language at a local place called Sing, Sign and Play. We have had the awesome opportunity to meet a lot of people,and become friends with a few of them. We finally planned a playdate, and met at a park in Valencia. Our little play group includes 2 boys, and 2 girls. Hailey is one, Madeline and John are turning one in a few weeks, and Hunter is 10 1/2 months. The beauty of the situation is that Hunter is bigger or equal to all of them so he fits right in. This is what being a stay-at-home is all about !

Castle Rock, Colorado

Last week , Hunter, my sister and I went to Colorado to see one of our dear friends get married. We went from 85 degree weather the week before in Arizona, to 4o degree weather and snow in Colorado. I do not have a lot of pictures from wedding since I was manning the baby, but I will have to tell you the wedding was beautiful. Laura and Rich were married in front of a beautiful window, and just as Laura walked up the isle it began to snow. It was unbelievable, especially for someone who hasn't seen snow since 1988.


On the day of the wedding we all went over to see Joyce and Paul's beautiful new house. Joyce had this great snowman costume, so we dressed Hunter and plopped him in the snow. Hunter was a really good sport, and we all had a good laugh.

Where is my Mommy ?

Wayne has had to pull out all of the stops to ensure that I can have a nice peaceful shower on his days off. So he started building a barricade that has royally pissed Hunter off....

Valencia Glen Park

The kids are on Spring break so Laura, Jamie and I decided to get together at the park. It was windy, and a little cool but we made the best of it. Lets pray that Jamie and Laura survive the last few days of Spring break..........

Papa.........

I can finally forgive John (Wayne's dad) for asking me everyday after we got married if and when we were going to have a baby. Wayne and I got sick of it one day, and finally told him not to ask again. Two years later he received his precious little grandson and I can now understand why he asked. John is truly the best Papa a little boy could have. I can't begin to explain their relationship, but you can see John's heart doing cartwheels when Hunter is around. John literally plans his whole day around Hunter coming over to visit. For some reason, I never expected John's reaction to Hunter, but in the end they make each other happy and for that I am grateful.
