I am just about 30 weeks pregnant, and cannot even believe it. The time is just flying by. I saw Dr. M on Thursday, and I am measuring right on. The consensus is that this little girl is not going to be as big as "Mr. Moo" who weighed in at a whopping 9lbs 2 oz. There is still time for alot of growth, but at this time with my first pregnancy I was consistently measuring 2 weeks bigger. We talked over alot of different things including the pros and cons of having my tubes tied. This is one issue I am getting a huge amount of different opinions about so no one will ever know if my tubes are going to be tied or not, but I will say that after this baby Wayne and I know that our family is complete. If you haven't heard a name for this new baby yet it is because Wayne and I have decided not to say. We cannot make everyone happy with the name we choose, and I am taking the side that it is our baby and we will name her what we want. After all of the opinions we got with Hunter's name, Wayne and I have chosen to keep the chosen name to our self. Between the babies name, and whether or not I should have my tubes tied I have pretty much shut out every ones opinion unless you are my husband.Call me crazy but I am knee deep in school right now. I am taking an Educational Psychology class this semester along with a Method of Research class. I was just able to add the Method of Research class. My academic advisor returned from a medical leave, and could not believe that I had been denied the chance to take an extra class before this next baby. In a nut shell, one lady did not care that I was having a baby in the middle of a semester and refused to do any leg work to get the ok for me to jump clusters and get this class done. As of last week, I was going to give birth and go back to school within two weeks. Now I have the option to take the summer off or continue on and begin my thesis paper. After talking with the professor of the Method of Research class, he has talked me into writing my thesis this summer with the promise that we can work together and I can take as much time as I need to get the thesis done. So that means, by the end of this summer I could/will have a Teaching Credential and a Masters in Education. From there I am going to complete my student teaching, finish taking the CSET and then decide what I will do from there. The ultimate goal is to go back to work but "when" is the real question.Hunter is doing really well. He has been sleeping in his "big boy bed" for about a month, and is doing really well. Today was the first time that he slid off the bed himself. He called for me, and when I opened the door to greet him, he took it upon himself to slide off the bed and carry on with his day. He is saying alot , I see you, apple, juice, ice tea, oh no, no, off, "there her is" instead of "there she is", ball, cars, bus, cho-cho, and many more. It took a long time for him to come around but sure enough he has. His new obsession is his Uncle Kyle, he stands in the hall and looks at Kyle's picture, runs for the phone and says its Kyle, hears a loud truck and thinks it is Kyle. Kyle, Kyle, Kyle , it is all we hear about these days. In a few short months Hunter will be back in swimming lessons. This is something I feel strongly about. With the amount of time he spends around John and Karen's pool, I will have him taking swimming lessons until he is a pro. I will pay any amount of money needed to make sure that he is safe and has every chance possible if he were to fall in. My mom did it for me, and I will do it for him. With the arrival of the new baby, Wayne will be once again taking another month off of work to bond with our new baby, and help the little guy transition into his new life as a big brother. I see alot of pool time, Magic Mountain (we have season passes), and trips to the park in Hunter's future. I know alot of people cannot take a month off, so I am so excited that we have this opportunity. Our new house is so great... The painting is done and the master bathroom is completed. We are still working on getting organized and getting stuff either put away or stored in the garage. Our neighbors are a dream come true. All of the kids adore Hunter, and he does alot of waving and blowing kisses when they leave the neighborhood. They all stop in front of the house, roll down their windows and acknowledge him, which he loves. He loves to open and close the garage door, and enjoys digging in the front flower beds. He has mastered the stairs, and comes down the stairs on his "bum" which makes me happy. Almost all of our pictures are up on the walls. I have a few pictures up that no one has ever scene because we didn't have the wall space in the condo. I got alot of flack for taking Hunter to get his picture taken throughout the first year but it is something else to see a professional picture at two weeks, and then a year right next to each other. I knew we would adventually have the wall space, and sure enough we do.
Our condo is still waiting to be rented, and with May approaching we are facing the reality that we might be paying two mortgages for a couple of months. I just lowered the price again, and hope that will do the trick. On the bright side, it is being shown once or twice a week so it is just a matter of time.
For the Mahaffey family, May is a very busy month. All three boys have there birthdays in May (Wayne, Kyle and Ryan), and even Blake. We have our anniversary, my dads birthday, my uncles birthday, and many big and little friends have their birthday. Not to mention Mother's Day....
Happy Sunday !
