20 months old

Mamma Jean is 20 months old today, and this is what she is up to :

she demands every second of your attention during her awake hours

is the best sleeper ever (8pm to 8 am), and you put her in her bed and walk away

is totally talking putting 3 to 4 words together

eating lots of food...loves apples , cheese and avocados

runs laps around the house

cries if Wayne looks at her funny

love, love,loves her brother

responds well to time out, and counting 

calls Hunter (BoBo)

knows how to drive the John Deer Power Wheel

loves pushing her baby in the baby stroller

is constantly asking me where everyone is (Daddy, Hunter and Papa)

just starting calling my mom Mimi because she can't say Grammie

loves the Hot Dog dance on Mikey House Clubhouse

loves to talk on the phone

gets a ton of attention when we are out and about

she is super sassy, and totally naughty

Kidlits

NASA

On Wednesday a small group from Wayne's station were invited to tour parts of Edwards Air Force base. The first part of the tour we were not aloud to take any pictures or even have a cell phone on our person.

The second part of the tour was NASA, during most of this tour we could take pictures but out on the run way no cameras were aloud.

5 on Friday

• Wayne, Hunter and I toured Edwards Air Force base, and NASA on Wednesday. The whole day was fascinating !
• I am so impressed with my husband. He is preparing for the Sergeants exam next month, training for Baker to Vegas, interviewing for different positions, and always working overtime. He is always striving to be better and make more money for our family. 
• Last Friday, Wayne and I got to have dinner alone and then spend time with my mom, John, Lynn and Mark. We sat and talked for hours...it was a great night !
• Taxes are done, and this is when it always pay off to own more then one property !
• I am selling a ton of stuff at the Consignment Sale next weekend. I can't wait to drop it all off on Sunday.

5 on Friday

1. On Wednesday, Wayne, Hunter and I are going on a tour of NASA. I have no idea how or who Wayne knows but we gave a lot of personal information just so we can get in. 
2.  At MOPS today, the speaker talked about raising grateful children but in order to raise grateful children you yourself has to be grateful. I loved the message she gave, it is quite simply - disrespectful children grow up to be disrespectful adults. I saw this first hand with a childhood friend. Selfish children become selfish adults. It is really that simple !
3.  Last Saturday, Hunter went to another birthday party at Dig It. It was totally over his head, even though he does really enjoy drilling the rocks. 
4.Madalynn had a mysterious fever this afternoon. I am hoping its teething since she has four new teeth breaking ground. Poor girl !
5. I strongly dislike  hate cancer !

Three Year Old Thursday

Three year olds are hilarious, because often big words and big ideas come out of their little mouths... This is the only way I could think of to document the funny and notable things Hunter does every week. When Madalynn turns two I am going to do Two Year Old Tuesday for her. Enjoy !

1.On Tuesday when I picked Hunter up for school, I asked him how his day was. He responded with," I don't know Mom,it really isn't that important !  Alrighty then...

2. Poor John is so sick , and while over at my moms house this week I overheard Hunter ask John... Are you feeling better today ?  He is such a compassionate little guy....

3.Today Hunter brought home the cutest square that he had used scissors to cut. The sides were horribly jagged, but it did look some what like a square.

4. Now when Hunter wants to do something he says...." Mom, I have a great idea !"

5. Hunter loves the new show "Jake and the Neverland Pirates". He giggles and giggles the whole time he watches it. I often find myself laughing just because he is giggling so hard !

6 Last night Hunter asked me......" Momma.... am I a good big brodher?"

7. Hunter can now take a shower without help.....he gets his towel, starts the water, he washes his hair, washes his body, puts on lotion, and gets dressed.

8. At the end of the day on Thursdays he goes out and brings in the trash cans. He tells me to stand at the door while he brings them up and puts them on the side of the house.

Favorite memory of the week -While the baby napped , I laid in Hunter's bed watching a movie and Hunter played with his train table. My little guy has the greatest room !

Pride

My kids are not perfect , and things are not always pretty,  but a majority of the time our day and our household is filled with nothing but love, kindness, and patience for our kids.  My kids have a great life, they are home with their mom all day, and when Wayne is off he gives them his very best every single night. As a result Hunter is thriving....he loves school, he loves his family, and he prides himself on being a good boy. I often have to remind myself that he is only 3 1/2... This kid has so much depth, and Wayne and I expect a lot out of him, but most of all I love that he is filled with pride.

5 on Friday

1. The Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl..... which means that Wayne won a 40 inch LCD HD TV from The Signal. It came down to points and if the Packers didn't win, Wayne wouldn't have won the TV.
2. Tonight we took Hunter to Simi Valley with our neighbors to get him out on a BMX track tonight.. he did really great and went around the track a minimum of 20 times. He could not get enough, and is already asking to go back.
3. Wayne has been working on solving a Rubix cube... the first part of the week he followed tips and now I mix it up for him and he can solve it in less then 5 minutes.
4.This week started out with Hunter having the flu, Madalynn recovering from a cold and teething, and then Wayne was sick on Tuesday. Wayne was sick enough the he stayed in bed most the morning and didn't go to work. Wayne is very rarely sick, thank god because I normally get everything.
5. Today in the mail we received a card addressed to Mommy & Daddy Mahaffey.... it had adorable heart stamps on the front , and when you opened in up it was a picture of Hunter with a sign in his hand that read " I Love You !"  It was the best thing ever, Wayne and I love it !

Big Brother

Being a Big Brother......

is hard work

especially when you are under the weather !

5 on Friday

1.This week has been hard. Madalynn has not only been sick but she is teething. Wednesday she cried and whined all day long.The only word she said all day was "Mama",over and over again.
2. We are having a Super Bowl party on Sunday...food, family, friends and football ! Oh...and a bouncer for the kids . Go Green Bay !
3. An adorable 5 year old girl moved in across the street, and her and Hunter have been playing ever since. They run, ride bikes, ride the Power Wheel, scooter , and laugh !
4. On Wednesday I went to Rite Aid with a ton of coupons, and a list of things we needed. My sub total was $32.00 , and after coupons I paid $4.27. Even the cashier was impressed !
5. For the last few Saturdays we have been out front doing campfires with the neighbors. The kids roast marsh mellows, and play play play while the adults sit around and chat. It is a lot of fun !

Cards

First thing this morning while I made breakfast

Madalynn sat on the floor and played with the cards

"Momma....car !"

and once she went through every card, 

she packed them up and ate breakfast !
